Change Event

A potential change to the work, logged and priced early — before it becomes a formal change order.

A change event is the early-warning record of a possible change: a design revision, a field condition, an owner request, or an RFI answer that looks like it will cost time or money. Logging it as a change event lets the team estimate the financial impact and pursue pricing (RFQs to subs) before committing to a formal change order.

Think of change events as the funnel that feeds change orders. Catching a change early — while it's still a change event — means you can quantify it, notify the owner, and protect your entitlement to be paid for it, instead of discovering the cost after the work is already done.
